The Chief Inspector is directly responsible to the President for the overall operation of the Inspection Department. His responsibilities include the following: 1. Compliance with all applicable FAR pertaining to the Repair Station. 2. Directing, assisting, and supervising all personnel assigned to the department. 3. Ascertaining that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work before it is released to service and that the appropriate inspection and maintenance records, reports and forms required for such release are properly executed. 4. Serving as liaison between the FAA and the Repair Station. 5. Direction, planning, and implementation of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the Repair Station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturers’ recommendations 6. Ensuring that no defective or un-airworthy parts are installed on any aircraft or component thereof until corrected and released by the Repair Station. 7. Reporting of Suspected Unapproved Parts to the FAA in accordance with AC 21-29B. 8. Ensuring proper submission of reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions in accordance with FAR 145.63. 9. Performance of preliminary, hidden damage, and final inspections of items processed by the Repair Station. 10. Ensuring the continuity and completion of required inspections when personnel shifts or assignment changes occur. 11. Ensuring that parts are properly identified and tagged. 12. Ensuring that rejected or unserviceable parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts. 13. Maintaining a current file of pertinent FAA Regulations, Type Certificate Data Sheets and Airworthiness Directives. 14. Acquiring and maintaining technical data on all units overhauled or repaired by the Repair Station. This will include manufacturers’ structural repair and overhaul manuals as appropriate, service and technical bulletins, other applicable manufacturer or vendor technical data, and all related Federal Aviation Administration materials. 15. Ensuring performance of periodic checks of all inspection tools and calibration of precision test equipment as outline in the manual. 16. To host a semi-annual meeting of managers and inspectors to discuss issues related to inspection procedures. 17. Producing each proposed revision in final form and submit it to the President for approval. 18. Oversight and implementation of an Internal Evaluation Program to assure continuous compliance with all applicable regulations and ensure continuous improvement throughout the Repair Station. 19. Representative of Helispec, Inc to the FAA. 20. Responsible for good standing of the Repair Station Certificate, with the FAA. 21. Maintaining a file containing the Employment Summary and Record of Training for each supervisor, technician, and inspector. The file shall be located in the Inspection Office.
